          Watch as we unbox the stunning IWC Portugieser Automatic IW500705 watch, a timeless dress piece that retains the classic appeal of the original IWC Portugieser first released in the 1930's. It's comfortable 42.3mm stainless steel profile pairs perfectly with the silver plated dial with blue hands and appliques and matching blue alligator leather strap. Housed within is the IWC-manufactured 52010-calibre which beside its black ceramic pawls and the Geneva stripe decoration can be seen through the exhibition case back.

          1. DIAGNOSIS

          An IWC diagnosis watchmaker assesses the technical functionality of the movement and any complications and checks the aesthetical conditions of the case and bracelet. Based on this thorough inspection, we determine the appropriate service and replacement parts needed to restore and guarantee the optimal function and appearance of your timepiece.

          2. CASE REFURBISHMENT

          After extracting the movement, we dismantle the case and clean all parts in an ultrasonic bath. Our Complete Service also includes polishing the case and metal bracelet. Significant irregularities or deep traces of wear may be removed using laser welding. As we reassemble the case, we systematically replace all seals and gaskets to ensure the stated water resistance.

          3.MOVEMENT OVERHAUL

          We disassemble the movement and clean each part to remove microscopic dust particles and oil residue. The watchmaker then carefully inspects the condition of each component and replaces any wearing part that no longer meets our standards. After reassembling and fine-tuning the mechanism, we lubricate all pivot points and bearings to reduce friction and wear.

          4. REASSEMBLY

          After overhauling and reassembling the movement, the dial and the hands are mounted onto the movement. We then carefully refit the mechanism into the refurbished case. Finally, our watchmaker performs any necessary adjustments before securely fastening the case back and hermetically sealing the case against the entry of dust particles or humidity.

          5. QUALITY CONTROL

          The last step is our comprehensive final quality check. The functional tests performed include checking the power reserve and measuring the rate and accuracy for 12 hours. We also control air pressure and water resistance and perform an aesthetical check. Our 2-year service warranty covers all workmanship and replacement parts.

          WARRANTY

          - Our warranty covers everything except a) regular wear-and-tear from normal use, b) abuse of the timepiece, and c) accidental water intrusion caused by the end user (not due to a manufacturer defect).
          - External damage to the product not covered under warranty: any damage resulting from wear to the watch case, crystal/glass, watch bracelet, watch bezel, straps, screws, crown/stem, finishes, clasps/buckles, or any other physical damage to the watch.
          - Also not covered: a) defects caused by outside force or improper use, b) consequential and incidental damages, and c) the loss of precious and/or semi-precious stones from settings.
          - Outside modifications and third-party repair attempts of any kind will void the warranty.
          - Any damage if used under conditions which exceed the watch manufacturer’s water resistance guidelines, and/or as indicated above regarding accidental water intrusion caused by the end user, will also not be covered.
          - Watches that are labeled as water resistant feature a screw down crown. The crown must be screwed down properly at all times to keep the watch casing watertight. Water damage is not covered under the warranty unless it is proven defective by the SwissWatchExpo Repair and Service Center.
          - Shipping cost to SwissWatchExpo for potential warranty repairs is not covered.
